I love my career as a realtor and luxury home specialist, but I would be lying to you if I didn’t admit that it comes with its share of challenges and frustrations, as it means I am dealing with people who are either selling or buying what is, most likely, one of their largest assets.

It is even more challenging for me because I do take it so personally – because I care so much about the people who have entrusted their business to me.

I have been dealing with one such challenging situation and can honestly say I have beenRelieved-Face-loses-its-comical-sheepishness-now-appears-more pretty frustrated and almost ready to lose my mind trying to negotiate the best possible resolution for my client since yesterday afternoon.

This morning,  I sat down to read Scripture and spend time with God, because this is my daily habit.  I make it the way I start my day.  Before emails, phone calls , Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest – I give God and I the first part of my day to have a conversation.  Listen to each other and take it all in.   I have come to NEED this conversation time, or my day is pretty much guaranteed to be an emotional roller coaster.

Anyway, I sat down with God this morning, frustrations on the tip of my tongue and brimming over in my heart, and  I started with my different reading plans that guide me through the Word.

It has become my custom to read through my different reading plans each morning, and write down the  scriptures that each one focuses on in my prayer journal,  along with any really important points from the attached devotional message.

2016-02-22 17.52.48At the end, I draft up my Tying It All Together Section.  That means I go back through the Scriptures I have noted down and I underline or highlight the parts that really jump out at me.

Then I draft notes on what they all seem to tie together to say.  By the end of that section, I usually see the message God has for me for that day.

Today, my notes were:

  • Do not worry
  • Pray
  • Have Faith
  • Remember everything God has already done in my life and the amazing things He continues to do
  • Know and trust without question that He loves me, He has pursued me and chosen me as His very own and that He cares for me and has promised to take care of me, to hear my cry and care for all my needs and dreams
  • Tell Him my needs, cares and dreams
  • Keep asking, keep praying, keep seeking, keep knocking.
  • It is my job to keep going and His job to fulfill His promises.
  • Seek His Kingdom and serve Him in everything I do.  Let everything I do be a representation of who He Is and Whose I am.
  • And just have faith.  Do my job and let Him do His.
  • Keep going.

And honestly – just like that…

Focus.  Understanding.  Peace. Awareness.  Appreciation.

They just flowed into my heart and mind.  I let go of anxiety, and I felt a huge smile beam out of my face as I just embraced all that I have and all that I am – and how incredibly lucky I am to have a Father who not only adores me, despite me, who takes care of my every need, most times in ways better than what I had envisioned for myself , but also I have a Father who comforts me.   He talks to me, He guides and assures and reassures me.

And that – well…  That is mind-boggling and priceless.

So let me just go do my job.  I know without any doubt that He is there, doing His…

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
