Day Three – What Makes Me Happy?
Oh the usual things…
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things…”
Fresh flowers and coffee,
My bible and quality time with the One who loves me.
The raucous sound of a child’s gleeful laughter,
Watching their mom hold them so close after.
Chubby baby cheeks and juicy baby’s legs,
Sunflowers brightly, hopefully lifting their heads.
Puppies and kittens and baby anythings ~
You can see the thing I most miss experiencing…
Little girls with natural curls
The hero inside each of us that, when needed most, unfurls…
Helping someone else – talking them through a problem, encouraging them to believe in themselves and go after a dream, inspiring or motivating them to do something big or small. Helping others up out of their mess as I have been helped in mine…
How could these things not make you happy?
But on particularly bad days, I remember…
“Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37: 4 NIV
